We are consulting on a variation to the fee scheme for regulators.

Article 11.3 of the Royal Charter requires the PRP to prepare, consult publicly upon, and publish a scheme for charging fees (the fee scheme) to regulators in relation to the functions of recognition and cyclical review.

In 2017, the PRP consulted upon and made its decisions on the fee scheme. One of our decisions was that the cyclical review fee payable in accordance with Articles 11.4 to 11.6 of the Charter should be paid in one annual instalment on 3 November each year.

This consultation proposes an amendment to the fee scheme to give the PRP a limited discretion to waive the requirement to pay the cyclical review fee in one annual instalment.

Respondents are invited to comment on our proposal and provide alternative suggestions. Your response to this consultation will be considered by the PRP Board before any amendment to the fee scheme is adopted.

The consultation will run for four weeks, from 12 noon on 12 September 2025 to 12 noon on 10 October 2025.
